Hello Hello

I’m currently adjusting to a new routine, and it’s taking some time to get used to it. They say it takes around 60 days for a habit to feel like second nature, right? I suppose that applies to writing as well.

Before diving into today’s update, someone recently asked me why I chose to embark on this 180-day writing journey to document my portfolio career. The answer is simple: I want to become a better storyteller.

It’s often said that the simple act of writing helps you communicate more clearly. And as Steve Jobs emphasised, storytelling is a powerful tool in business, but I think it extends far beyond that — it applies to careers, daily life, and more. You can have a great product or fantastic skills, but if you don’t know how to market them properly, it’s over before it even begins. And storytelling is a huge part of that.

Now, back to the business day. Yesterday was an office day, so I spent most of my time reviewing social media and campaign material from the team for my 9–5. As soon as I got home, I figuratively splashed some water on my face and started working on a short animation feature for Find A Biz Africa. I’m currently on an animation learning journey, so it’s all fun and games here! Just kidding — it’s actually really interesting and challenging, but I’m enjoying every moment of it.

That’s about it for today!

Lesson Learned

Today reinforced the importance of being flexible and open to learning new things, whether it’s adjusting to a new routine or diving into the world of animation. The journey might be challenging, but it’s also rewarding. And remember, storytelling isn’t just for writers — it’s a skill that can elevate your business, career, and everyday interactions.
